1 Why Do We Have Uniform?
We believe that school uniform is an important part of our community here at The Brook Academy because:
· Pupils develop a sense of belonging and avoid being discriminated against by what they are wearing.
· A smart appearance and sense of identity will have a positive impact on behaviour and respect of others.
· It promotes the good reputation of our school within the community.
The support of parents is vital in maintaining this policy.
2 What Is Our Uniform?
Uniform consists of:
· Grey Brook Academy branded polo shirt.
· Navy Brook Academy branded sweatshirt.
· Black trousers / joggers/skirt/shorts in summer
· Black shoes / trainers
· Blue & black Brook Academy branded jacket.
· (PE) blue Brook Academy T-shirt.
On admission all students will be provided with 1x polo shirt, 1x sweatshirt, 1x jacket, and 1x T-shirt. Students and parents are responsible for the care and replacement of uniform. Uniform can be purchased through the school at a subsidised rate.
At Brook, we are aware that some of our young people have sensory needs meaning that certain items of clothing can cause distress and discomfort. If this is the case, reasonable adjustments can be made. This will be through conversations with the young person’s family and class teacher. Uniform will still be expected to be within the academy colour scheme.
